1. Drink Water

One of the simplest ways to avoid bad breath is to drink plenty of water. When you’re well-hydrated, your mouth produces more saliva. Saliva is nature’s mouthwash; it washes away food particles and bacteria that cause bad breath. So next time you’re feeling parched, reach for a glass of water instead of sugary soda or coffee. Your breath will thank you for it!

2. Chew Sugarless Gum

Chewing gum is another great way to keep bad breath at bay. Just make sure to choose a sugarless variety; sugary gum can actually contribute to cavities. Sugarless gum stimulates saliva production, which helps wash away bacteria and food particles that cause halitosis. Chewing gum can also help freshen your breath if you don’t have time for a toothbrush after lunch or have just eaten garlic, onions, or other strong-smelling foods.

3. Brush and Floss Regularly
